SMP Law Wins Overnight Parenting Time
SMP Law was recently successful in defending a father’s right to have overnight parenting time with his children.
In this case, the father had been accused of several criminal charges and was still in the process of defending those charges. The father had not had overnight parenting time since April 2026 and was having difficulty even having parenting time with his children as the mother wanted his time supervised. His first lawyer advised him to immediately take supervised access. SMP Law took a different approach and successfully defended the father’s right to have unsupervised parenting time as well as obtained an interim order for significant overnight parenting time.
Criminal charges do not automatically mean your parenting time is supervised, restricted, or removed. Make sure to speak to a lawyer to know your rights and how to ensure you continue to have your parenting time with your children.
