September 2025 – Parental Alienation Study Group Conference – Shawn Philbert, lawyer at SMP Law had the privilege of providing a presentation at the Parental Alienation Study Group (PSAG) Conference in Toronto on September 11, 2025. His presentation was titled “You Don’t Like my Ruling So Now You Say I am Biased! Enforcement of Parenting Coordinator Awards – Tools to Ensure Success When Dealing with Parental Alienation”.
September 2025 – 2025 AFCC Conference – Shawn Philbert attended the conference in Advanced Issues in Child Custody.
January 2025 – Shawn Philbert of SMP Law completed training in Parent-Child Contact Problems.
November 2024 – Shawn Philbert of SMP Law completed his training in Voice of the Child Reports.

ONTARIO SOUTH PARAMEDIC MEMORIAL RIDE
SMP Law was proud to support the Ontario South Paramedic Memorial Ride. The ride was 2 day cycling event held on September 18th and 19th to raise funds towards the National Paramedic Monument in honour of Paramedics who have lost their lives in the Line of Duty. The event raised over $8000 towards the National Paramedic Monument.
The annual Terry Fox Run has become a fall tradition in Canada and SMP Law was honoured to support a community member to raise money for this important cause.
NORTH HALTON GIRLS HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
SMP Law sponsored a hockey association for girls and women’s hockey. The North Halton Girls Hockey Association offer girls and women in Halton Hills, Milton and the surrounding communities an opportunity to play hockey. All of the players are registered members of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association, which is a member partner of the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada. Go Twisters Go!
SMP Law was a proud sponsor of the Mississauga Steelheads last season and enjoyed many benefits to sponsoring the team including Sponsor nights where SMP Law invited many members of the community to come and enjoy a complimentary Steelheads game.
SMP Law enjoyed sponsoring Wi Canadian whose mission is to empower West Indian Canadians through various annual events including the Miss West Indian Canadian Pageant with Exhibitors, Wi Can Dance Competition, Little Miss West Indian Canadians, Fashion Shows, and summer boat cruises. Julie Rambali, the CEO of Wi Canadian has been proactively involved in the Caribbean culture for many years and strives to positively promote the Caribbean culture internationally. SMP Law is looking forward to the many events!
SMP Law was a proud sponsor of the Drayton Entertainment – Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge for the 2019 season which will showcase performances such as: Rocky The Musical, Glory, Grease The Musical, 12 Angry Men, Annie and Elf The Musical!
SMP Law was a proud sponsor for the Over “N” Under Car Club! The Over “N” Under Car Club gives back to their community by raising funds for the Ste. Louise Outreach Center of Peel and Interim Place.
POOL FOR SCHOOL – RIVERSIDE PUBLIC SCHOOL
SMP Law was honoured to participate in the Pool For School Tournament at Riverside Public School at Crooked Cue, Port Credit. SMP Law sponsored the tournament and also put a team in the tournament.
