• How many reviews does the law firm have? If there are too few reviews it can be hard to determine if there is enough information to go on to make an informed decision about hiring that law firm.

 

• What is the average score of the law firm reviews? This will largely depend on your personal preference, however, the average score gives a good indication of the overall experience of the law firm.

 

• What are the reviews saying? Pay attention to the comments left by the reviews, both positive and negative. For some, even the negative comments might be positive for them, depending on what they are looking for in a law firm. For example, one person might negatively review a law firm for an assertive approach while someone might value that approach.

 

• Does the law firm respond to reviews? If they respond, it may be an indication that they care about what people’s experience is of their law firm.

 

• How does the law firm respond to reviews? Do they only respond to positive reviews? If they respond to negative reviews, how do you view their response? Does the response address the concerns?

 

• Look for reviews that speak directly about the specific lawyer that will be working on your legal matter. The law firm may generally have reviews but there may also be specific reviews about the lawyer or lawyers at the law firm and those reviews will be helpful in determining your views of the lawyers and the law firm.
