Shawn Philbert, lawyer at SMP Law attended the recent international conference in September 2025, hosted by the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) on Advanced Issues in Child Custody. It was a 4-day conference with excellent speakers from all over the world.

The sessions in the conference explored important topics, with a focus on parental alienation, parent child conflict problems, the effective use of parenting coordination, and substance misuse and process addictions. Shawn coordinated with various experts from around the world and will continue to work with these professionals and apply this knowledge and these relationships to his files. It was a great opportunity to obtain additional education on these significant areas of family law.
